Reflecting on 2024 before it disappears in the rearview...

We traveled a good part of the year.
While our meanderings provided endless inspiration, writing while roaming the countryside poses a unique challenge.

We're staying home this winter...and wishing for a good old-fashioned Northern Michigan winter!

If predictions come true, Dave and I might be tempted to strap on skis and venture to Crystal Mountain!

Our gypsy life began in March, at Tucson's Festival of Books.

I jumped on the invitation to return. It's not everyday lesser-known authors like me get to mix it up with the big guys like Craig Johnson, CJ Box, William Kent Krueger, & R.L. Stine. 🙂

As Arizona's Sonoran Desert Burst into Color...We Headed for the Sunny Beaches of California...and Goldie Palooza

Dave & his partner Parker, our golden retriever had a blast at this annual event hosted by the Southern CA Golden Retriever Rescue. Over 1300 pups came through the gates, setting a new world record.

Home Through Utah & Colorado...

We camped in Bryce, Zion and Kodachrome...Then Headed Into the Mountains of Colorado...

A book signing at Grandpa's Barn took us to Copper Harbor in August.

This small town at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula is worthy of a road trip.
While there, visit Lloyd Wescoat's unique book store. Its huge covered deck overlooks a community garden, and the wood-burning stove is warm and welcoming.
While the store is closed for the winter, a large inventory is available online. Click on Grandpa's Barn to find a new favorite.

I'm working on an exciting new book - for adults this time 🙂

Until I land on a title, I'm calling it "Riley's Journey." More on that later. 🙂
I bring this up because it takes place near the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park not far from the Keweenaw. I wanted to explore. So, we spent a few days hiking through ancient forests of Hemlock and Pine.

Our wanderings ended with a fall trip  to the Tetons and Yellowstone...

Now...We're settling in for the Winter and I'll have plenty of time to write 🙂

Until Next Time...Enjoy this Lovely Season!
